About Arupratan Ghosh

Arupratan Ghosh

Arupratan Ghosh is a common man with an uncommon concern. A visionary agriculture technologist who is driven towards solving the crisis that food production industry is expected to face in the coming years. His goal is to reach out to farmers who are otherwise unaware of the technological advances in the field of agriculture and train them professionally, so that every piece of cultivated land yields optimum production.

He has a vast experience in Rural and Agriculture development works, spanning for over 32 long years (in 6 different organizations) and spreading over almost all sorts of agro-climatic situations available in tropical and subtropical areas. Wise and deep insight over the domain helps to do many interesting works and also helps to be an innovator and idea-giver. He is actively associated in all round Rural and Farmer Development System, for specific rural areas in the interior of the agriculturally backward areas. He tries to assimilate the recent advances in technology and disseminate these in a way that other farmers can afford it and make use of the technologies.

To satisfy his passion he quits the formal service, in March 2015, started the work of advisory / consultancy and tried to devote time in his experimental firm, CCFR.

In his school and college days, Arupratan Ghosh, as an athlete, used to be the University and District champion in Table Tennis, and represented both in Cricket as well. Today he shows the same level of energy and passion in the development of his field. He has flair to write anything he thinks necessary for the society.

He has written several articles in newspapers, periodicals and has published two books on his subject 'Dryland Farming [3rd Edition], and Greenhouse Technology'.
